Friends of Sprinker Rally

Friends of Sprinker is holding a rally this coming Wednesday, June 23 from 5:30 - 7pm at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Military Road in Parkland/Spanaway! Make a sign, bring some noisemakers, show your support for KEEPING ICE IN PIERCE COUNTY!

Make a sign, bring a noisemaker, wear something that represents what you do at Sprinker! Ice skate, hockey, tennis, gymnastics, karate Zumba, Babysitting classes, church, parties, dog obedience classes, WHATEVER IT IS! Represent your activity!

We'd also like everyone to bring a container of some sort to use to collect donations from the public. Bring a skate, bring a tennis bag, bring your sports bag... whatever you use at Sprinker, bring it!

We are also working to establish a bank account and a 'donate' button for the Friends of Sprinker website. All donations will be used to further the Sprinker cause, 'Save Sprinker' t-shirts, mailings, whatever it takes! ALL DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!

Pierce County confirmed yesterday that Sprinker Recreation Center will be closed effective October 31. We cannot give up our fight to keep ice in Pierce County! We cannot give up our fight to keep ice in Pierce County! Write the County officials!

We have learned from various sources inside Pierce County that there is a pending closure plan for Sprinker! This could happen AS SOON AS OCTOBER! Sprinker Faithfuls - YOU MUST WRITE AND CALL COUNTY OFFICIALS TODAY!

If Sprinker closes, not only will thousands of Pierce County residents suffer, 60 people WILL LOSE THEIR JOBS!!

Tell them to STOP CHASING ribbon cutting ceremonies and SUPPORT what they already have!

Renovation Wheels Rolling Again

We are so excited to tell you that at our June 10 Friends of Sprinker meeting, we learned that County Officials have decided to get the renovation process moving again!

Starting immediately, they will be getting the existing design into the Quality Review stage! One step at a time, Friends!
We would like to thank all of you that are supporting this effort! We couldn't do it without friends like you!

We're also hearing that the County is looking at funding options! We hope to have news this week! We will post whatever we learn right here and on Facebook as soon as we know anything!

Sprinker Renovation Campaign
Friends of Sprinker has launched this website in an effort to launch a campaign to tell Pierce County officials how much Sprinker Recreation Center NEEDS A RENOVATION!

We are asking each and every one of you to email the Pierce County officials to tell them what you think of the renovation. You can use the email form that we've set up for you. click here... Tell them one of your experiences at Sprinker, just one.

We are looking for people who are interested in attending Pierce County Council meetings so there is a showing at every Council meeting to make a statement that we are serious about them moving this project forward. They have dragged their feet too long! It's time to do it already!
